HARARE, Zimbabwe — Thirty years after mobile connectivity began transforming the way Zimbabweans communicate, telecommunications operator NetOne is marking its anniversary with a new data promotion offering customers more room to learn, work and stay connected.
The promotion, dubbed 30ForYou, gives customers 60GB of data for US$30, valid for 30 days, as NetOne celebrates three decades of connecting Zimbabweans.
Under the offer, subscribers receive 30GB of anytime data and an additional 30GB of off-peak data.
NetOne said the promotion was designed around the changing role of mobile connectivity, which has moved beyond basic voice calls and text messages to become an important tool for education, commerce, agriculture and social interaction.
For students, the additional data can support access to online lessons, research and digital learning platforms, while small businesses can use it to market products, engage customers and receive orders online.
Farmers can also benefit from greater access to market information, weather updates and agricultural knowledge, while families can use mobile services to maintain contact through calls, messaging and video.
For young people, the increased data allowance provides more opportunities to learn, create, explore and participate in the digital economy.
NetOne said its broader focus remained on making connectivity meaningful in people’s daily lives, particularly through initiatives targeting digital healthcare, education, rural connectivity and digital financial services.
The company said these efforts contribute to Zimbabwe’s broader digital transformation agenda and support national development aspirations under the National Development Strategy 2 (NDS2) and Vision 2030.
The telecommunications company said its 30th anniversary was also an opportunity to recognise the millions of customers who have been part of its journey.
“Thirty years calls for more,” is the central message behind the promotion, with NetOne positioning 30ForYou as both an anniversary offer and a gesture of appreciation to its customers.
US$30. 60GB. 30 days.
For NetOne, the anniversary marks not only three decades of connectivity but also the beginning of a new phase in which mobile technology is expected to play an even greater role in expanding access to opportunity across Zimbabwe.
