HARARE – NetOne has reaffirmed its role as a transformative force in Zimbabwe’s development agenda, with Chief Executive Officer Engineer Raphael Mushanawani declaring the company’s full alignment with national priorities during a press conference for The President’s Cup 2026 today.
Speaking at the event, Mushanawani described the tournament as a platform where sport, business and development converge, directly linking the initiative to the vision of President Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa.
“This tournament is more than golf. It is a demonstration of leadership, vision and collaboration — a platform where sport, business and development converge,” Mushanawani said. “It reflects President Cde Dr ED Mnangagwa’s unwavering commitment to building a prosperous, inclusive and forward-looking Zimbabwe.”
The NetOne chief executive emphasized that the company’s corporate strategy mirrors the discipline required in both sport and nation-building, framing the partnership as an extension of its broader mission.
“We believe that every stroke in golf mirrors every strategic decision in business and nation-building — precision, discipline and focus determine success,” he stated. “Under my leadership, NetOne has taken bold, purposeful steps to connect communities, empower citizens and drive innovation, ensuring our initiatives align seamlessly with national priorities.”
Mushanawani also commended the government’s efforts in leveraging sports for youth development and social cohesion, addressing Deputy Minister of Sport, Recreation, Arts and Culture Cde E. Jesaya directly during his remarks.
“We salute your leadership in harnessing sport as a catalyst for youth development, social cohesion and national progress,” he said. “NetOne is proud to walk this journey alongside Government — fully committed to initiatives that strengthen our country and elevate Zimbabwe on the continental and global stage.”
The CEO positioned the telecommunications company’s involvement in The President’s Cup as a statement of its broader corporate identity, moving beyond its role as a service provider.
“This partnership sends a clear message: NetOne is more than a service provider,” Mushanawani said. “We are a force for transformation — a company that leads, innovates and delivers tangible impact.”
He concluded by reaffirming the company’s dedication to the initiative and the President’s broader vision for the country’s future.
“President Mnangagwa, we salute your vision,” he said. “NetOne is proud to walk this journey with you — stroke by stroke, fairway by fairway, toward a brighter future for our nation.”
