Nyamuroro, Zimbabwe – 16 April 2025 – NetOne today officially handed over a fully renovated and modernized computer lab to Nyamuroro Kubatana High School, marking a significant step in bridging Zimbabwe’s digital divide.
The state-of-the-art facility, equipped with the latest technology and modern furniture, will provide over 300 students with access to robotics, engineering, and digital literacy programs.
His Excellency, the President of Zimbabwe Emerson Mnangagwa commissioned the lab in a ceremony attended by government officials, education stakeholders, and community leaders. The event emphasized the government’s push for inclusive technological education, particularly in underserved communities.
Speaking at the handover, the President praised NetOne’s investment in youth development, stating that the lab will empower students with skills critical for Zimbabwe’s digital future. The commissioning was followed by a children’s party at the school, celebrating the students’ new learning opportunities.
“This facility is a game-changer for our community,” said the school’s headmaster. “Our learners now have the tools to compete in an increasingly digital world.”
The project, a collaboration between NetOne and the government, aligns with national efforts to promote STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) education. The upgraded lab positions Nyamuroro Kubatana High School as a center of innovation, preparing students for careers in technology-driven industries.
With this initiative, NetOne reinforces its commitment to connecting Zimbabwe’s youth with opportunities in the digital economy.
