Mutare – Chikanga Constituency legislator, Hon. Lynnet Karenyi, has distributed stationery to 250 vulnerable children in her constituency. The items were purchased using funds raised during a charity fundraising dinner held on January 25.
The donation benefitted pupils from Mutare Adventist Primary School, St. Joseph’s Primary School, Beulah Heights Primary and Secondary School, Murahwa Primary School, and Chikanga Primary School.
Speaking to The Wasu Post, Hon. Karenyi expressed gratitude to the community for supporting the initiative, emphasizing the positive impact such programs have on education.
“Schools were so happy to receive the donations. More of these programs will help students, and I encourage people to partner with schools to support education,” she said.
Hon. Karenyi was accompanied by Mutare City Council Deputy Mayor John Nyamhoka, along with Councillors Sekai Mukodza, Gift Chatikobo, Zvichauya Zvikombero, Sarah Manjengwa and Patrick Masenyema, who assisted in the distribution.
The donation is part of ongoing efforts to support underprivileged students in Chikanga and improve access to essential learning materials. Organizers have urged well-wishers to continue donating to ensure more students receive the necessary support.
