The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) has confirmed the death of ten people following a fatal road traffic accident that occurred along the Harare–Nyamapanda Road.
The accident happened at the 185-kilometre peg near Suswe area on Wednesday, December 17, between 11:30am and noon.
According to police, a Honda Fit carrying ten occupants and travelling from Mutoko to Kotwa was involved in a head-on collision with a haulage truck heading towards Harare.
Preliminary investigations indicate that the Honda Fit allegedly encroached into the lane of oncoming traffic, resulting in the collision.
All ten occupants of the Honda Fit died at the scene. The haulage truck had four occupants, whose conditions were not immediately disclosed.
The ZRP said more details surrounding the accident will be released in due course.
