Mutare was set ablaze yesterday night as the Castle Lager Braai Fest brought musical fireworks to Madziro Leisure Centre on the outskirts of the city. Music lovers from across Manicaland Province turned out in droves for a sizzling night of entertainment, food, and drink.

Headlining the event were Zimbabwe’s top acts — ExQ, Killer T, and DJ Tamuka — who delivered explosive performances that kept fans dancing well into the early hours of Sunday morning.

Opening the show was DJ Tamuka, whose high-energy set instantly ignited the crowd. The Gweru-born producer mixed Amapiano, Afrobeat, and local hits, setting a vibrant tone and drawing fans closer to the stage.

Zimdancehall heavyweight Killer T followed, storming onto the stage with his hit “Kufamba KwaPaurosi.” He went on to belt out crowd favorites like “Delilah” and “Ngausandidaro Mujolo,” sending the audience into a frenzy. The venue turned into one massive sing-along as fans echoed every lyric. Responding to chants for more, Killer T threw in old-time classics including “Vakandiona Ndichitonga kuHaifa,” sparking loud cheers and nostalgic vibes from longtime supporters.

Then came the ever-smooth ExQ — affectionately known as Mr. Putiti — who switched the tempo with his trademark romantic style. He serenaded the crowd with timeless love anthems such as “Maidei,” “Tsvigiri,” and “Nzenza,” captivating couples and Urban Grooves loyalists alike. His polished choreography and flawless vocals reminded fans why he remains one of Zimbabwe’s most enduring stars.

From mouth-watering braais to electrifying performances, the Castle Braai Fest lived up to its reputation — giving Mutare fans an unforgettable night of music, flavor, and fun.
