People don\u2019t want to work but prefer to buy things in supermarkets,\u201d she said, adding that the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) place emphasis on environmental sustainability.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Home farming project owner Evelyn Chatanga underscored the benefits of agroecology, encouraging farmers to avoid synthetic pesticides and fertilizers, improve soil management, and promote biodiversity.<br>\u201cAgroecology not only sustains agriculture but also enhances health management through safe and natural methods,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dr. Mujaju, Director in the Ministry of Agriculture, highlighted the need to reclaim African ways of living and the significance of traditional medicine.<br>\u201cThe legacy of colonialism has had a lasting impact on African cultures and systems, and it is time to rebuild from within,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Renowned broadcaster Dr. Amai Chisamba, who also attended the event, expressed her enthusiasm in educating farmers on how to achieve good and healthy yields.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Poret Trust Manager Mr. Blessing Matondo said the program would give farmers in Chimanimani an opportunity to learn, share grievances, and improve their livelihoods.
