His mother, <strong>Tsitsi Mahomwa<\/strong>, said the condition began as a small growth and has worsened over the years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cIt started as a small lump when he was still a baby. Now it has grown so big that it\u2019s affecting his whole hand,\u201d she said. \u201cWe couldn\u2019t afford treatment, and it has been very painful to watch my son suffer.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mahomwa, who lost her husband three months ago, has been caring for Blessed alone. She said despite his deteriorating condition, her son remains determined to continue his education. \u201cHe is in Form Four. Even with everything going on, he still wants to finish school,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When residents of Zororai Old People\u2019s Home learned of Blessed\u2019s condition, they mobilized what little they had to get him admitted at Mutare General Hospital.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The <strong>Dave Munos Foundation<\/strong> later stepped in and transferred him to private specialist care under <strong>Dr. Mhlanga<\/strong>. He is currently admitted at the doctor\u2019s facility, with all medical costs being covered.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe couldn\u2019t ignore his condition,\u201d said <strong>Donald Manhende<\/strong>, Chairman of the Dave Munos Foundation. \u201cWhen we first approached him, he ran away because he was afraid of losing his hand. But when he came back, the situation worsened and he has to be admitted at Mutare General Hospital, We had to act fast.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Manhende said the foundation has taken full responsibility for Zimunya\u2019s care. \u201cOur goal is to restore hope.
