(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n<\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Mutare \u2013 Several schools from across the region gathered at Leadermold College on Friday, 13 March 2026, for a Debate and Public Speaking Tournament aimed at sharpening students\u2019 communication, reasoning and leadership skills.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The event, which ran from 8am to 4pm, featured debate pool sessions, public speaking contests, semi-final rounds and finals before the announcement of winners and presentation of awards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-gallery has-nested-images columns-default is-cropped wp-block-gallery-2 is-layout-flex wp-block-gallery-is-layout-flex\"><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Schools that participated included Heartland College, Alpha, Chinobaka High School, Gombakomba High School, St Joseph\u2019s High School, Leadermold College, Summit Heights College, Mountain Rise College, Chitakatira High School and Herentals Group of Schools.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After several rounds of debate, the teams finished as follows:<br>Ghana (Team Number 1) \u2013 1st Position (won a trophy)<br>Botswana (Team Number 2) \u2013 2nd Position (won a trophy)<br>Somalia (Team Number 3) \u2013 3rd Position<br>Samsung (Team Number 4) \u2013 4th Position<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Public Speaking Winners<br>Students also competed in the public speaking category where participants showcased their confidence and oratory skills.<br>Princess Magombeyi \u2013 1st Position (won a shield)<br>Colleta Jam \u2013 2nd Position<br>Nissi Kahudzeuhwe \u2013 3rd Position<br>Ngonidzashe Mangezi \u2013 4th Position<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Best Speakers and Judges<br>Kudzi and Christabell were recognised as the Best Speakers and received shirts as prizes for their outstanding performance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The competition was adjudicated by Drew Kokowe, Kimberley Chinogara and Tadiwanashe Chakandinakira.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Speaking after the tournament, Royal Studio Africa Chief President David Mamvura expressed appreciation to the participating institutions and partners.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cMy appreciation to all institutions which made it to the tournament and my gratitude to the presence of the Ministry of Youth Empowerment, Development and Vocational Training, the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education, and the Junior Ministers who have a dedication to drive change in our country,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mamvura said the organisation intends to expand the programme beyond Zimbabwe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cRoyal Studio has proved to have a solid vision which is unshakable and resilient to any nature of a challenge. As the Chief President of Royal, I announce this to the whole continent of Africa that our neighbouring countries must expect us very soon because our expansion is unavoidable.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He added that the initiative will soon be taken to a national level, with the third edition of the tournament to be announced at the appropriate time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe call upon valuable partners across our continent to partner with us in this initiative.
