Chipinge, 20 February 2026 – <\/strong>A 19-year-old Chipinge man has been arrested in connection with a series of thefts at Chipinge Musika Flea Market, where clothing and footwear valued at US$2 137 were stolen over a three-month period.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Police confirmed that Jayden Domingo (19) of DMB location, Gaza, Chipinge, is facing theft charges as defined in Section 113 of the Criminal Law (Codification and Reform) Act [Chapter 9:23].<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The complainants in the matter are Sipiwe Mhlanga (33) of St Kelvin, Chipinge and Hardlife Gwenzi (25) of Gaza \u2018O\u2019 location, Chipinge.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is alleged that between November 30, 2025 and February 10, 2026, Domingo unlawfully entered a secured yard at Chipinge Musika Flea Market on three separate occasions and stole sacks containing assorted clothing and shoes belonging to the two vendors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Narrating the incident, Mhlanga said she later received information about the whereabouts of her goods.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI received a tip-off that my stolen clothes were in Gaza location. I quickly teamed up with others and we alerted the police,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She added, \u201cAfter informing the police, investigations were carried out which led to the arrest of the suspect.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Police arrested Domingo on February 16, 2026. Following his arrest, a substantial quantity of the stolen property was recovered.
Police sources said, \u201cProperty worth US$1 461 has been recovered so far and investigations are still in progress.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Property stolen from Mhlanga was valued at US$1 487 and included dozens of clothing items such as T-shirts, jeans, skirts, trousers, bras, socks, flip flops, school socks, satchels, travelling bags and safety shoes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Goods stolen from Gwenzi were valued at US$650 and comprised jean trousers, skirts, tops, T-shirts, ladies\u2019 pants and footwear.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
