Mutare \u2013 The Commissioner-General of Police on Wednesday hosted the Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) 2025 Christmas Church Service at Christ Embassy Church in Mutare, bringing together police officers, families and members of the community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The event was marked by acts of charity as widows and orphans of late ZRP members received food hampers in recognition of their sacrifice and to provide support during the festive season.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Speaking on behalf of Officer Commanding Police Manicaland Province Commissione  Charles Nhete, Assistant Commissioner Norest Henry Myambo said the Christmas service was meant to honour both serving and fallen officers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThis Christmas church service allows us to come together as one police family to reflect, pray and remember our colleagues who paid the ultimate price in the line of duty,\u201d said Assistant Commissioner Myambo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He said the Zimbabwe Republic Police remained committed to supporting the families left behind by deceased officers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAs the ZRP, we have a responsibility to ensure that widows and orphans of our fallen members are not forgotten, especially during the festive season when families are supposed to be together,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Assistant Commissioner Myambo said the food hampers were a gesture of appreciation and solidarity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThese hampers may not replace the loss of a loved one, but they symbolise our continued care, compassion and gratitude for the sacrifice made by our late officers and their families,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He also called on officers and communities to uphold unity and faith.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe encourage our members and the community at large to remain united, prayerful and committed to serving the nation with integrity and discipline,\u201d said Assistant Commissioner Myambo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The annual Christmas church service forms part of the ZRP\u2019s tradition of acknowledging faith, service, and social responsibility during the festive season.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
