Harare and Masvingo followed with several silver and bronze medals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Guest of Honour, Sports and Recreation Commission (SRC) Chairman Dr. Nathaniel Madzivanyika, officially opened the tournament and hailed it as \u201ca celebration of talent, unity and the boundless energy of our local authorities.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He also announced plans to resuscitate the Zimbabwe National Youth Games (ZNYG) and the Zimbabwe Republic Police Games (ZRPG) by August 2026, urging cities to support youth participation and infrastructure development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Manicaland Minister of State for Provincial Affairs and Devolution, Hon. Misheck Mugadza, attended the event, saying he found it important to \u201ccome and grace this exciting initiative that unites the nation through sport.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mutare Mayor Simon Chabuka welcomed visiting mayors, councillors and residents from across Zimbabwe, saying the city was honoured to host and win the Games.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThis victory reflects our community\u2019s spirit, teamwork and determination,\u201d said Chabuka.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After the tournament, the city came alive with musical performances from some of Zimbabwe\u2019s top artists, including Dorcas Moyo, Sir Calez, Ndunge Yut, and other Zim dancehall stars, who entertained the crowd in a jubilant celebration that capped off the successful sporting weekend.<br><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Fanuel Chinowaita Mutare | 27 October 2025 &#8211; Host city Mutare emerged overall champions at the 2025 Inter-Municipality Games, dominating the competition and showcasing both sporting and cultural excellence during the two-day event.
