Mutare, 23 October 2025<\/strong>\u2013 The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) Women\u2019s Network Manicaland Province joined the global community in commemorating Breast Cancer Awareness Month with a fitness and wellness campaign aimed at promoting early detection and prevention of the disease.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The event, held yesterday under the theme \u201cEvery Story is Unique, Every Journey Matters,\u201d brought together police officers, health experts, and community members at a colourful ceremony graced by Assistant Commissioner Muyambo, who was the guest of honour.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The gathering was organised in collaboration with the Cancer Association of Zimbabwe (CAZ) to raise awareness about breast cancer, encourage regular screening, and promote healthy lifestyles among women and men alike.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In her keynote address, Assistant Commissioner Muyambo applauded the ZRP Women\u2019s Network for its commitment to health and wellness, saying the initiative complemented the National Development Strategy 1 (NDS1), which prioritises the well-being of all Zimbabweans.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She said breast cancer awareness was not only a health issue but a community responsibility that required everyone\u2019s involvement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAwareness surrounding breast cancer is incredibly important as early detection, often through screening, can catch the disease when it is most treatable,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Muyambo also commended the Cancer Association of Zimbabwe and other presenters for educating participants on the causes of breast cancer, preventive measures, and lifestyle adjustments such as diet, exercise, and stress management.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cTo the survivors, we celebrate your strength; to those still fighting, we stand with you; and to those we have lost, we honour your memory,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The event featured health talks, fitness exercises, and testimonies from survivors, all aimed at encouraging participants to seek regular medical check-ups and support each other in the fight against cancer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In her closing remarks, Assistant Commissioner Muyambo reminded participants that breast cancer awareness was not just an annual campaign but a continuous movement to empower and educate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
