Mutare, 23 January 2026– The MaBoozer Akarongeka Social League (MASL) turns its focus to Match Day Two, scheduled for Sunday, 1 February 2026, as teams prepare for another round of competitive veterans’ football following an action-packed opening weekend.

According to the official fixture list, Rusape Crackers will host early pace-setters All Stars, while Juventus FC are set to face Igwe Stars.

Avon FC will take on Chipolopolo Social, Cracking Fathers clash with Forbes Border, and Blacks Hobhouse will meet Zimbo Muchahe-cho.

League officials have urged all teams to confirm their fixtures in good time, with teams without home grounds advised to liaise with their opponents to secure suitable venues.

League secretary Chris Mukweza, also known as Mutepfura, speaking to The Wasu Post said teams have adequate time to prepare for the upcoming fixtures.

“According to our fixture, our next games are on Sunday, 1 February 2026. We have time to prepare, fulfill and confirm our fixtures. Those without grounds can liaise with their opponents,” said Mukweza.

The upcoming matches follow the official launch of the MaBoozer Akarongeka Social League, a competition strictly for players aged 35 years and above, created to bring structure, transparency and discipline to social football in Manicaland.

Reflecting on the formation of the league, Mukweza said MASL was established after teams raised concerns over affiliation fees in previous competitions.

“Teams were paying affiliation fees but they were not seeing how the money was being used. This league is about accountability and giving value to the teams,” he said.

Match Day One produced entertaining football and plenty of goals, with All Stars setting the early pace after thrashing Blacks Hobhouse FC 8–2 to top the standings.

Club Zimbo made a solid start with a 3–0 win over Igwe Stars, while Chipolopolo Social Club edged Rusape Crackers 4–3 in one of the most thrilling matches of the round. Avon FC and Cracking Fathers shared the spoils in a 1–1 draw, while the match between Forbes Border and Juventus FC was postponed.

After the opening round, All Stars, Club Zimbo and Chipolopolo Social Club are tied on three points, with Avon FC and Cracking Fathers on one point each, while Rusape Crackers, Igwe Stars and Blacks Hobhouse FC are yet to register points.

The league is supported by local partners and sponsors including Liquor Tap Mutare, EBI Driving School, Bhuru, Belchar, Come Dine Restaurant and Navtech Electronics Store.

With strict age verification, a zero-tolerance policy on violence and an emphasis on social cohesion, organisers say the focus remains on responsible football, enjoyment and unity as the season gathers momentum.
