Manicaland’s own 10-year-old beauty queen and entrepreneur, Joylene Mazemo, is set to fly the Zimbabwean flag high this weekend at the prestigious Kids Preneur event in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. She will join contestants from 15 other countries, showcasing her innovative cosmetic brand, Jolux Brands.
Crowned Mini Miss Little Africa Zimbabwe on June 8, 2025, Joylene has already carved a name for herself as a rising star in both the beauty and business worlds. Her mission is to restore confidence in African women through natural and organic hair and skincare products.
A pupil at Manicaland Christian School, Joylene’s Jolux Brands offers a range of products including hair food for African kinky hair, hair and facial oils, foam baths, body salts made from baobab products, and petroleum jelly. The brand also produces cleaning detergents such as thick bleach and pine gel.
“With Jolux Brands, my dream is to become the leading global brand for beauty and skincare products tailored to the unique needs of black women, empowering them to celebrate their individuality and radiate confidence,” Joylene said.
The Little Miss Africa Zimbabwe title is awarded to young girls who excel in the annual Little Mr. and Miss Africa Zimbabwe pageant, which celebrates cultural heritage and diversity. Contestants aged between 4 and 16 are assessed through talent showcases, cultural presentations, and confidence on stage.
Organized locally by Shalom Ramunyenyiwa and founded by Disan Walulya, the pageant has been a launchpad for young talent over the past five years, with winners representing Zimbabwe at international events in countries such as Egypt and Malaysia.
As Joylene heads to Tanzania, she carries with her the hopes of her community and the pride of Zimbabwe. Her story is a shining example of how determination, cultural pride, and youthful ambition can inspire the next generation of African leaders.
