MUTARE – A bedridden mother from Dangamvura, Mutare, received a lifeline on Thursday after the Dave Munos Foundation stepped in to cover her rental arrears and provide essential food supplies, following post-natal complications that left her incapacitated.

The woman, whose identity is being withheld for privacy reasons, was battling hunger and eviction alongside her infant when a video of her dire condition went viral on social media.

The video, shared by Godfrey Sithole, prompted an urgent response from the Dave Munos Foundation, which is known for its grassroots humanitarian work.

Donald Manhende, chairman of the foundation, told The Wasu Post that the intervention was triggered by a call from Clide Jani, who sought immediate help after seeing the video.

“We have been operating as a non-profit organization for a while, and many people are now aware of our work. After the video circulated, we responded quickly with food supplies and rent assistance,” said Manhende.

In addition to the foundation’s aid, Discovery Ambulance Services, a sister company to the foundation, has taken over the woman’s healthcare needs, providing free medical attention.

“She is now under our care for health-related issues. She is not the only one—many others in similar conditions are also under our radar. We will continue supporting them until they fully recover,” Manhende added.

The humanitarian gesture has been widely praised by residents, with many calling for more collaborative efforts to support vulnerable members of society.
