Mutare’s rising music star, King Shutso, set the stage ablaze at the Zimbabwe Congress of Trade Unions (ZCTU) Workers’ Day commemoration in Mutare yesterday, delivering an electrifying performance that left workers inspired and energized.
Born Shumirai Divine Chikwature from Bocha Marange, the Manicaland-bred artist captivated the crowd at Moffat Hall with his hit song “Namata Zvinopera,” urging workers to remain hopeful through prayer amid challenges. His performance resonated deeply with attendees, who had gathered under the ZCTU banner to demand an end to corruption, exploitation, and social injustice in the workplace.
King Shutso, who has been making waves in Zimbabwe’s music scene, also showcased his versatility by performing other fan favorites, including “Ngatibatanei,” “Guka” (an anti-drug anthem), “Ndomutenda,” and his latest release, “Ngaatendwe.” His music, rooted in social consciousness and faith, continues to elevate Manicaland’s presence in the entertainment industry.
